Another Upcoming Nokia Smartphone? HMD Global Sends out Press Invites

HMD Global, the parent company behind manufacturing Nokia phones has begun sending out press invites for a launch event which is to be held on 19 October 2017 in China. The company is looking to unveil some new smartphones. So far, Nokia has released the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and the Nokia 8.The launch event could. Now, Nokia might be looking forward to adding another device which sits between the 6 and 8 and could be called as the Nokia 7.

In the press invite, the word ‘qi’ is mentioned which translates to 7 in Chinese which hints at the company launching the Nokia 7. As per the rumour train, the event could also see the launch of the Nokia 2 and the Nokia 9 widening the variety of Nokia smartphone lineup. The Nokia 2 is expected to be a budget-friendly device and the Nokia 9 expected to rank just below the Nokia 8, the current flagship.

As per rumours with the Nokia 7’s launch, it could also be an enhanced version of the Nokia 8 instead of an all-new device. The upgraded version of the Nokia 8 is expected to sport 6GB of RAM coupled with 128GB of internal storage, which the current version lacks.

As far as rumours regarding the Nokia 7 go, they hint at a device which will be launched in three variants sporting 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, 4GB RAM with 32GB of storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage.

The ‘qi’ in the press invite could also hint at a smartphone that will support Qi wireless charging, similar to the iPhone 8 and iPhone X. The current Nokia smartphones running Android do not have this feature and it would be nice for a new device to support this technology.
