Apple announced the Series 2 of Apple Watch when it introduced the iPhone 7 last month. The iPhone 7 is set to go on sale here in India starting from 7th of October and that is when the Series 2 and the Series 1 of the Apple Watch will go on sale too. While pre-booking campaigns of iPhone 7 are in full swing, there has not been much news around the availability of the Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 1 other than the launch date.
However, Flipkart, which was the first to announce the pre-order of the newest iPhone, has now listed the Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 1 on their site. While the design of the Apple Watch is same as that of the first generation, the Series 2 brings a faster S2 chipset, standalone GPS, splash resistance and a brighter display. Just like the Series 2, Series 1 is also on pre-order on Flipkart. The Series 1 is largely the same Apple Watch as the first generation model, though it comes with the same S2 chipset that has been used on the Series 2 Watch. This is the first time that Apple has literally done a component transplant on a device, other than a MacBook.
The Series 1 of the Apple Watch is on pre-order for a price of Rs 23,900 for the 38 mm variant, while the 42 mm variant will cost you Rs 25,900. The Series 2 Watch starts at Rs 32,900 for the 38 mm variant and Rs 34,900 for the 42 mm sized version. If you are interested in the Ceramic version of the Apple Watch, it will set you back by Rs 1,10,900 and the Apple Watch Nike+ will retail for Rs 32,900.
