Last week, we reported that Apple is all set to launch the Nike+ Edition of its Watch Series 2 officially on October 28th. Now, we can confirm that the smartwatch will also arrive in India at the same time. Apple India’s website has been updated, suggesting that the Nike-branded Watch will be available in the country in two weeks. To recall, the company unveiled the Apple Watch Series 2 along with the Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus, on September 7th. However, the availability information was not revealed during the launch.
Apple, with the Nike+ edition, is apparently competing with seasoned players such as Fitbit in terms of fitness trackers. However, it all boils down to Apple and Nike, who together are helping runners get better results with the smartwatch. It flaunts an aluminum casing and a unique strap, which identifies itself. Long story short, Apple’s focus has apparently been shifted towards health and fitness unlike its Watch Series 1. This is probably where Apple-Nike collaboration makes sense.
Apple Watch Nike+ has a built-in GPS tracker that monitors your activities such as speed, the distance you have traveled and route you have taken. It also comes with a few exclusive watch faces that display how much calories you have burnt during your previous run. Interestingly, you can also receive reminders of a shared activity from your friends. This is how you can keep a track of your friends’ progress or share your progress with them.
The Apple Watch Series 2 Nike+ Edition price starts at Rs. 32,900 for the 38mm variant as well as Rs. 34,900 for the bigger 42mm variant.
