Asus introduced the ZenFone AR earlier this year at CES featuring the support for Google’s Tango – the augmented reality project. Now, the company has finally launched the device in India. It carries a price tag of Rs 49,999 and will be available starting today at 4 pm on Flipkart exclusively. The company is also throwing Asus ZenEar S earphones and a discount of Rs 2500 on purhcse of Google Daydream along with the device.
Talking about the specifications of Asus ZenFone AR, it comes with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Powering the phone is a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chip paired with Adreno 530 GPU for graphics processing. Some of the phones that are pack SD 821 processor under the hood are OnePlus 3T, and Google Pixel lineup.
Asus ZenFone AR supports up to 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. The memory can also be expanded further up to 2TB by means of a microSD card support. The device also comes enabled with Google Daydream VR ecosystem. Moving on, Asus Zenfone AR features new five-magnet speakers, supporting DTS virtual surround sound and high-res audio.
For leveraging the power of Tango, Asus ZenFone AR houses a triple-camera module on the back, consisting a 23MP main camera alongside a motion-tracking and depth-sensing optics. Additionally, the rear cameras also support 4-axis OIS (optical image stabilisation) as well as 3-axis EIS (electronic image stabilisation).
On the front, it features an 8MP front-facing camera for capturing selfies. It is a Dual-SIM phone which runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. It is based on a 3300mAh battery, offering 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C port.
