Chinese smartphone maker Gionee is gearing up to launch a new phone dubbed Gionee S9 next week. Gionee recently posted a teaser on a microblogging website Weibo which hints that the company has an event scheduled for November 15th in China. Earlier this week, this phone got certified by Chinese certification authority TENAA. Hence, it was expected that this phone will be official in China anytime soon. It should be noted that apart from 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual rear cameras, no other details are currently known.

However, if rumours are to be believed, the Gionee S9 features a 5.5-inch (1920× 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass on top. What powers this phone is a 1.8 GHz eight cores MediaTek Helio P10 processor mated with a Mali T860 GPU for graphics. It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory. The storage capacity supports further expansion up to 128GB with the help of microSD card. This device runs Amigo OS 3.2 skin on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. It’s a Dual-SIM phone with one micro-SIM and one hybrid nano-SIM slot.
This phone is rumored to equip all the standard set of connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. If this phone lands in India anytime soon, it will be a treat for those looking to buy VoLTE-enabled phones. Not to forget, the requirement for 4G VoLTE phones is consistently been on the rise since Reliance Jio came up with its free calling and unlimited data offer. It also packs in a 3000mAh battery. At this moment, nothing else is known about this phone. But we can definitely expect more information once Gionee announces the device officially.
