iPhone 7 on September 7th, it does have a nice ring to it, or maybe it’s just a planned coincidence. Either way, the next iPhone is coming and it’s happening in the first week of September. As it is expected, rumors of the refreshed iPhone started a good three or four months ago, where it was revealed that the upcoming device will feature largely the same design as the outgoing iPhone 6s or the 6s Plus but will have a few incremental facelifting features. Apple issued media invites for the new iPhone just yesterday.
The design changes include moving the ugly antennae lines from the back of the iPhone to the perimeter as well as the inclusion of dual camera setup on the premium iPhone, most likely to be the iPhone 7 Plus or the 7 Pro. As expected, the internals of the iPhone will be bumped, but the major talking point will be if Apple decided to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack that has been a feature of every single iPhone since launch in favor of the lightning connector which would deliver the audio as well as charge your iPhone.
It is also expected that the Home Button on the new iPhone 7 will have 3D Touch as a major differentiator. The event will start at 10:30 PM IST at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California. As always, the event will be broadcasted live for those who are using Apple devices including iPhone, Macbook, Apple TV or iPad. If you are running Windows 10, you could watch the event using the Edge Browser on your machine too. It is not clear how many different variants of the iPhone 7 Apple would announce, with it being rumored that other than the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, there will be an iPhone 7 Pro too. Apple is not expected to refresh the MacBook line or even the iPad line at the launch event.
