Meizu, a Chinese smartphone company, first made its presence in the Indian market in 2015 with Meizu m2 Note and after that, the company has launched a range of smartphones to keep the spirit alive. But ever since it launched Meizu M3s in October last year, the company has been silent in India. Well, not anymore.
According to our sources close to the industry, the Chinese company is soon launching Meizu M5, a VoLTE-enabled smartphone in India. The company had already launched the device in countries like China, Italy, Russia in November last year. Now, the phone is coming to India, most probably in next few weeks.
The Meizu M5 sports a 5.2-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The phone also gets 2.5D glass on top. In China, the phone was launched in two variants – one with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage and another one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The phone also gets five color options including glacier white, matte black, mint green, champagne gold and sapphire blue. However, it is not confirmed whether both the variants or all the color options will be available in India or not.
The Meizu M5 is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor clocked at 1.8GHz. It runs on Flyme OS 5.5 which is built on the top of Android 5.1 Lollipop. Talking about camera, the Meizu M5 features a 13-megapixel primary camera with dual-tone LED flash and PDAF. It also flaunts a secondary 5-megapixel camera for capturing selfies. The phone also sports a front fingerprint scanner mounted on the home button.
It is a Dual SIM phone and supports two Nano SIM cards. It packs in a 3,070mAh battery which company claims to provide 66 hours of continuous music playback. Other connectivity feature includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS. The phone measures dimension of 147.28×72.8x8mm and weighs 138 grams. As it is a budget phone, we’re speculating it to be priced around Rs 8000-9000.
