Lenovo owned brand Motorola has launched the second C-series smartphone in India dubbed as Moto C Plus. Just a month ago, the company launched the younger sibling Moto C in India carrying a price a tag of Rs 5,999. The older sibling Moto C Plus, however, gets a pricing of Rs 6,999. The device will be available for sale starting tomorrow i.e., 20th June exclusively on Flipkart.
With Moto C and C Plus, the company has introduced the new C-series lineup targeting the entry-segment market.
Specs-wise, the Moto C Plus sports a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor ticking at 1.1GHz. Accompanying the processor, the phone gets 2GB of RAM plus and 16GB internal storage further expandable via MicroSD card up to 32GB. The phone also gets a dedicated slot for MicroSD card, which is a plus point. It runs Android Nougat and packs in a mammoth-sized 4000mAh battery.
For shutterbugs, the Moto C Plus houses an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, 720p video recording and an accompanying single LED flash. Up front, it flaunts a 2-megapixel snapper with 63-degree wide lens. The front camera is also accompanied with an LED flash. On the Connectivity front, the device gets all the standard features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a micro-USB port.
Considering the cut-neck competition in this price range, especially from Xiaomi it doesn’t really make sense for Motorola to launch such a device. Looking at the overall specs, the phone looks disappointing on the paper. Except for the Android Nougat and front flash, it doesn’t offer much for the given price. Redmi 4, on the other hand, for the same price offers a better camera, more powerful processor, fingerprint scanner and bigger battery.
