Moto X4 Android One Edition Announced in the US Market

Google has officially announced the first ever Android One phone for the US market – Moto X4. It will be exclusive for Google’s Project Fi users. The rumours of Moto X4 Android One Edition were already making rounds since last month and finally, it’s official. It carries a price tag of $399 and is available for pre-order through Project Fi website. The Android One Edition comes in two colour options – Super Black and Sterling Blue.

After being virtually dead for a while, the Xiaomi Mi A1 was launched earlier this month to revamp the Android One platform all over again. Now, the Moto X4 comes as the second Android One phone of this year. With Android One, the phone will offer a Pure Android experience and comes with a set of curated list of pre-installed apps. It is also promised to offer the timely updates such as Android Oreo before the end of this year. Similar to Mi A1, the Moto X4 will also be among the first one to receive Android P update.

Talking about specs, the Moto X4 Android One Edition comes with pretty much same specs as the regular Moto X4 comes with. It also puts on a 5.2-inch Full HD LTPS IPS display and gets Corning Gorilla Glass protection on the top it. Under the hood, it’s powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 630 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. For photography, the Moto X4 Android One Edition sports a dual rear camera setup comprising a 12-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor. The wide-angle lens offers a 120-degree field of view, has an aperture size of f/2.2 and 1.12-micron pixels. Accompanying the dual cameras there sits a colour correlated temperature (CCT) dual-LED flash.

Powering all, the phone packs in a 3,000mAh battery backed with Moto’s Turbo Charger for fast charging.

In other news, Motorola has confirmed through Twitter that the standard variant of Moto X4 will be coming to India on 3rd October.
