There are several reports that Motorola is currently working on a new phone — Motorola XT1662, allegedly the Moto M. Shortly after the rumored Moto device appeared on GFXBench last month, it was listed on a Chinese telecommunication authority TENAA. According to specifications listed on a benchmarking website, the Motorola XT1662 sports a 4.6-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution.
The device is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6755 clocked at 2.3GHz and Mali-T860 GPU for graphics. It features 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the Moto XT1662 houses a 16-megapixel primary camera as well as an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.
According to the latest leak, the Moto XT1662 features a 4GB RAM. We think the phone may arrive in two variants. One of the variants will offer 3GB of RAM while the other variant will feature 4GB of RAM. This is probably the first time we have come across a phone featuring a 4.7-inch screen with Full HD resolution. The first-gen Moto X had a 4.7-inch screen. However, it featured a 720p HD resolution. It’s surprising to see Motorola moving to a smaller screen size as all other manufacturers are keeping 5.5-inch a standard screen size for their smartphones.
As there is no other information available at this moment, we have to wait for an undefined amount of time till the company announces this device officially.
