The legend is back! Nokia made a much-awaited comeback with the Nokia 6, Nokia 5, and the Nokia 3 at the MWC 2017. What’s more, they finally run on Android!
The Nokia 6 broke cover a couple of months back when it went on sale (and quickly out of stock) in China. Compared to the Chinese-spec phone, the global version gets a wide-angle 8-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus. It sports a metal unibody design in matte black and houses a 5.5-inch Full HD display. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor with 3GB of RAM and has 32GB of storage onboard (expandable up to 128GB). The special version called the Arte Black features 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and a glossy black metal body.
The Nokia 6 has a 16-megapixel primary camera with dual tone LED flash. Regarding software, it gets the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat in its stock form along with Google Assistant on board. The smartphone will be available in matte black, blue, copper, and silver and will retail at a price of $242 (Rs. 16,000) for the standard version and $315 (Rs. 21,000) for the Arte Black version.
For those who despise big screens, meet the Nokia 5. It features a 5.2-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The Nokia 5 is powered by the Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage (expandable to 128GB). There’s a 13-megapixel camera with phase detection autofocus and dual tone LED flash at the back and a wide angle 8-megapixel snapper up front.
Despite the smaller size, the Nokia 5 manages to pack in a 3000mAh battery. And just like the Nokia 6, it gets Android 7.1.1 Nougat (Stock with timely security updates) and a fingerprint scanner on the front. The colour options on this smartphone are tempered blue, matte black, silver and copper and will be priced at $199 (Rs. 13,300).
Nokia 3 is the entry-level smartphone from the manufacturer at the moment. It rocks a 5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The MediaTek 6737 is an octa-core processor that powers this smartphone. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). The smartphone sports 8-megapixel cameras at the front and back. Regarding design, the phone sports an aluminium frame with a polycarbonate back.
The Nokia 3 gets Android 7.0 Nougat and will be available in single SIM and dual SIM models. The small body of the phone translates to a 2650mAh battery. The colour options on the Nokia 3 include silver white, matte black, tempered blue and copper white and will retail for $147 (Rs. 9800).
