Oppo is planning to announce its new smartphone Oppo R9s next week on 19th October in China. The Chinese company already started teasing the phone on TV commercials in China. Recently it was spotted on Chinese benchmarking app – Antutu. Prior to this, the specs of Oppo R9s were already out due to the numerous leaks and this listing just verified the specs.
The Antutu listing revealed that the device would be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The display resolution is listed as 1920×1080, though the screen size is not revealed but we’re expecting it to be 5.5-inch display. The device is supposed to run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and come with 64GB of inbuilt storage. Also, there’s no word about the expandable storage. Talking about the camera, the listing reveals that the phone features two 16-megapixel cameras, one a back and one at front.
The company is also putting more emphasize on the 16-megapixel front facing camera, as it is the focus of all of its commercial ads on TV. Apart from these, Antutu listing hasn’t revealed any other specs of the device.
But considering the earlier leaks, the device will house a 3010mAh battery with Oppo’s own Super VOOC system for quick charging support. The device will employ a Sony IMX398 sensor for both of its rear and front facing 16MP cameras with an aperture of f/1.7.
Currently, there is no word about it releasing in India, but Oppo might release it soon in India too. The last phone company launched in India was Oppo F1s. It which was also a selfie focused smartphone with a 16-megapixel front facing camera. It is priced at Rs 17,150.
