Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi launched the successor of its most famous Redmi Note 3 series in India in last month, calling it Redmi Note 4. In an event held in New Delhi, Hugo Barra, former Global Vice President of Xiaomi was himself present at the event, which also turned out to be his last presentation at any Xiaomi’s event. Hugo Barra has now joined the Facebook VR division and Xiaomi has promoted Manu Kumar Jain to Global VP.
Coming back to the phone, the Redmi Note 4 was launched in Matte Black, Dark Grey and Gold colors, but the Matte Black color variant was not in stocks yet. Well, the matte black color variant is coming to the stocks and will be available on sale on 1st March. The sale will be held on Flipkart as well as Mi.com.
Talking about the specs, the Redmi Note 4 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with 2.5D glass on top. The phone is made of aluminium alloy and get a full metal unibody design. It also gets a fingerprint scanner located on the back panel right beneath the primary camera.
Under the hood, the Redmi Note 4 is equipped with an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor clocked 2GHz. The phone comes in three variants with different combinations of RAM and internal storage – 2GB/32GB, 3GB /32GB and 4GB/64GB. When it comes to camera section, the phone features a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and LED flash and a 5-megapixel front facing camera for capturing selfies. It is a 4G VoLTE-enabled dual SIM phone and supports a Micro SIM along with a Nano SIM card. Similar to its predecessor Redmi Note 3, this one also gets an IR blaster.
The Redmi Note 4 gets all standard connectivity features such as dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS + GLONASS and packs in a 4100mAh battery. Talking about the price, the 2GB/32GB variant is priced at Rs 9,999, the 3GB/32GB variant is priced at Rs 10,999 whereas the top variant 4GB/64GB is priced at Rs 12,999.
