Samsung’s newest addition to the J series, the J7 Prime is now on sale in India. The handset went on sale recently in Vietnam and was expected in India soon. Popular offline retailer, Mahesh Telecom had also tweeted about the availability and now e-commerce seller OnlyMobiles.com has the product in stock.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is an upgraded version of the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016). The phone has a 5.5-inch display with FullHD resolution (1920×1080). Samsung uses an AMOLED panel and is protected by Gorilla Glass 4.
The Prime is powered by the same Samsung Exynos 7870 processor like the J7 2016 but gets 3GB RAM onboard. The octa-core chipset also houses the Mali-T830 GPU. The camera at the back is a 13-megapixel sensor with autofocus and dual LED flash. The camera on the front is an 8-megapixel sensor.
In terms of software, the phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top. One new addition to the J7 Prime is the fingerprint scanner that is positioned on the physical home button. The phone gets 16GB of internal storage and a MicroSD card slot that accepts cards up to 256GB.
The J7 Prime gets a metal unibody construction, a first for a J series smartphone. The phone also packs in a 3300mAh battery. There is Dual SIM support and the phone supports 4G and VoLTE. With a sticker price of 19,400 the device is now on sale at Rs 18,490 and phone is available in Black and Gold colors options.
