Smartphone maker Samsung is committed to the ‘Made in India’ and ‘Make for India’ campaign. We had earlier reported that Samsung has invested close to Rs 2000 crore in India. In line with the commitment, it seems the latest phone to be Made in India is the upcoming Samsung Galaxy On7 2016.
The smartphone was launched in China in September this year and it looks like Samsung is already manufacturing the phone in India. Import listing site Zauba shows that Samsung has been importing components and assembly jigs of this new phone in huge quantities. Bearing the SM-G6100 model number the phone has not been officially launched in India yet but we are expecting it to launch soon.
The Samsung On7 2016 sports a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels (FullHD). The phone also has a metal unibody design. Powering the On7 is a Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2GHz along with 3GB of RAM onboard. The phone has 32GB of internal storage that is further expandable via a microSD card slot.
The phone has a 13-megapixel camera at the back and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone runs Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of Android Marshmallow. The battery is rated at 3300mAh and is non-removable. The phone is Dual SIM enabled and should have support for 4G and VoLTE. While the On7 2016 launched in China has Gold, Pink and Black, India seems to be getting the phone in Gold and Black. While there is no news of the On7 2016 in India yet, we hope Samsung launches the product soon.
