Samsung had launched the Z2 Tizen in India last week and the device finally goes on sale today. This is the company’s third phone in the Z lineup after the Z1 and the Z3. At the launch, Samsung announced that it will be selling the phone in both offline and online markets.
The Z2 Tizen is now available on online retailer PayTM for Rs. 4590. This smartphone is also eligible for the Jio Preview offer. This offer entitles the user to 90 days of free data and voice. At the same time, users also get unlimited access to Jio apps. Apps like Jio Beats, Jio on Demand, Video Calling and My Jio are bundled with the phone.
The Z2 has a 4-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It is powered by a Spreadtrum Quad Core Processor clocked at 1.5GHz and has 1GB of RAM. There is 8GB of internal storage which is expandable via a MicroSD card slot to 128GB.
The Z2 has a 5-megapixel rear camera with flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone runs on Tizen, an OS made by Samsung which is currently powering the Z series and a few Gear smartwatches. This is a dual SIM device with 4G connectivity. It is unknown if the device supports VoLTE.
The phone has a 1500mAh battery that is user replaceable. It’ll be interesting to see how the device performs with such a tiny battery. Samsung has also bundled S Bike mode which it was offering in its J series. This feature debuted on the Samsung Galaxy J3 and was later passed onto other Samsung phones.
