Swipe Technologies, the India based smartphone and tablet manufacturing startup launched two new products – the Swipe Elite VR and the Swipe Konnect 2017. The Swipe Konnect 2017 is the successor to the Swipe Konnect launched last year. On the other hand, the Swipe Elite VR is a brand new product that is aimed to provide entertainment as a primary motive in the form of VR. Both devices offer 4G VoLTE connectivity and aim to disrupt 4G phone prices with their extremely low-end price tags in comparison with the features they offer.
Swipe Elite VR
The Swipe VR is a first of its kind device from the company that aims to bring the VR experience to its users at a very reasonable price. The Swipe VR carries a price tag of Rs. 4,499 which will make it one of the cheapest Android phones to support VR. The device comes bundled with a VR headset as well. The smartphone will exclusively be available through ShopClues. In terms of specifications, the Swipe VR features a 5.5-inch HD IPS display having a resolution of 720 x1280 pixels.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor clocking at 1.3GHz. The device also features 1GB of RAM for multitasking, which does seem less considering the functions the device is aimed at performing. In terms of battery capacity, the offering from Swipe rocks a decent 3000mAh battery which should prove sufficient. The phone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow however, the company has not promised any update to Android Nougat at this point in time.
For the shutterbugs, the phone sports a primary camera at the rear and a selfie camera at the front. The primary camera is a 13MP sensor while the front facing camera is a 5MP sensor. Photos from both the cameras should range between decent to acceptable, considering the device’s price tag. The Swipe Elite VR also comes with 8GB of inbuilt memory that can be expanded up to 32GB through a microSD card.
Swipe Konnect Star 2017
The other device launched is the Swipe Konnect 2017. As mentioned earlier, the Swipe Konnect Star 2017 is the successor to the Swipe Konnect launched last year. This device aims at giving low-end 4G phones tough competition. The Konnect Star 2017 might prove the cheapest dual sim Android 4G phone on the market at a price tag of Rs. 3,333. This phone is also VoLTE compatible thereby making it possible to run on the Jio Network. The JioPhone was recently launched at Rs. 0 carrying a safety deposit of Rs. 1500. This phone could prove a better value for money considering it is a dual SIM VoLTE capable phone and it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
In terms of specifications, the 4G Konnect 2017 sports a 4-inch FWVGA display. Under the hood, the device is powered by a quad-core processor clocking at 1GHz. Also in terms of sheer battery capacity, the device features an 1800mAh battery pack which the company claims to give you up to 10 hours of talk time. The device also packs a set of cameras, one at the front bearing a 1.3MP sensor and the other at the back being a 5MP sensor.
Both of these devices are exclusively available through ShopClues. What is your opinion on these devices? Do let us know in the comments section below.
