Vivo, the Chinese smartphone maker has launched two brand new devices in China named Vivo X20 and its plus-sized variant, the Vivo X20 Plus. Both devices had been speculated for a while following multiple leaks about it. The devices feature a similar design as the recently launched Vivo V7+.
In terms of design, the devices feature a premium build sporting Full View displays (edge-to-edge) on the front and fingerprint sensors mounted on the rear. The X20 Plus is the larger sibling among both, boasting a 6.43-inch screen as compared to the 6.01-inch one on the X20. Also on the back, the dual-camera setup has been integrated into its frame, making the device look quite elegant.
On the display front, Vivo has stepped up its game with the X20 series by equipping both devices with Super AMOLED touchscreen panels. Owing to the Full View displays on the devices, they feature an aspect ratio of 18:9 similar to what the Galaxy S8 and LG G6 sport. The HD+ display on the X20 bears a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels (about 402 PPI) similar to its larger variant, the X20 Plus, however with a lower pixel density of 375PPI.
For the shutterbugs, Vivo has integrated both phones with a dual rear camera setup. The primary rear camera sports a 12-megapixel sensor having an aperture of f/1.8 and a secondary camera having a 5-megapixel sensor. Also up front, there is a 12-megapixel sensor above its screen.
Under the hood, the Vivo X20 phones feature an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC clocking at 2.2 GHz, keeping the phones snappy. In terms of memory, the phones come in a 64GB variant which is coupled with 4GB of RAM. The second major differentiating factor between the X20 and the X20 Plus is their battery capacities where the smaller variant has a 3,245 mAh battery and the latter a huge 3,900 mAh. Both devices run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
Pre-booking for both devices will start by September 25, with sales starting on September 30. The phones have been launched for a price of CNY 2,998 (Rs. 29553) and CNY 3,498 (Rs. 34489) for the X20 and X20 Plus respectively.
