Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi announced another successor of its television series, Mi TV 3s. In an event in Beijing on Tuesday, Xiaomi announced this TV along with new smartphones, Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus.
The Mi TV 3s comes in two sizes, 55-inch and 65-inch featuring 4K display. The Mi TV 3s comes with Artificial Intelligence and 8GB of inbuilt eMMC storage. The 55-inch variant is priced at 3,499 Chinese Yuan (Rs 34,000) whereas the 65-inch variant is priced at 4999 Chinese Yuan (Rs 49000).
Xiaomi also bundled few additional products with its 65-inch model and called it Home Theatre Edition. It comes with two 2.25-inch rear surround speakers, a sound bar, and a sub-woofer and is priced at 5999 Chinese Yuan (Rs 59,000).
Talking about the design of Mi TV 3s, it features an anodised aluminium alloy frame which bears an embossed double 45-degree diamond cut. The company also claims that it is only 9.9 mm at its thinnest point and 37.7 mm at its thickest. The 55-inch variant features a LG IPS panel whereas the 65-inch features a Samsung 4K panel. Both the set are powered by a 64-bit Amlogic T966 processor, which features four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz paired with 2GB of RAM, apart from a quad-core Mali-T830 GPU.
The Mi TV 3S also features Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth v4.0 connectivity. According to Xiaomi, these TVs are powered by their fifth generations image quality engine and it can display 4K content at 60fps with the H.265 hardware decoder. There’s still no word from Xiaomi regarding the launch of Mi TV in India anytime soon.
