Today, Xiaomi launched two new smartphones at an event in China. Putting an end to the series of leaks and rumors flowing since last few weeks, the company finally unveiled the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. What comes as a surprise is the second Xiaomi device that was launched during the launch event — the Xiaomi Mi MIX.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX sports a massive 6.4-inch IPS LCD capacitive display with 2040 x 1080 pixels 2K resolution. It has no bezels at sides, making it a borderless device. It runs on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor in which two cores clock at 2.3GHz and while other two clocks at 1.6GHz. It embraces two variants. A 4GB RAM variant comprises 128GB of internal storage whereas a 6GB RAM variant features 256GB of internal storage.
In terms of camera offerings, the Xiaomi Mi MIX features a 16-megapixel rear camera combined with a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies. The rear camera additionally provides 4K video recording in addition to dual-tone LED flash, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), and f/2.0 aperture. It carries a fingerprint scanner on the back right below the primary camera.
The Xiaomi MI MIX is a Dual-SIM handset with two nano SIM cards. It is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with MIUI8 on top. The device keeps up with a 4,400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE , WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C, and NFC. It also comes with a standard set of sensors i.e. accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage costs 3499 yuan (approx. Rs 34,530). The bigger 6GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is priced at 3999 yuan (approx. Rs 39,470). It’s available in China starting today and will go on sale starting November 4th.
