Indian smartphone brand Xolo is gearing up to launch a new handset this week. The company has started sending our press invites to the event scheduled for January 5 in New Delhi. The invite email confirms the phone’s name — Xolo Era 2X. The successor of Xolo Era 1X will be available to purchase exclusively from Flipkart. That aside, no other information is revealed at the moment.
Xolo Era 2X is expected to sport a 5.5-inch screen with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels Full HD resolution. The phone will likely be powered by a quad-core processor and 2GB RAM. We are assuming the device to feature a 13MP rear camera with LED flash as well as an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. Rumour has it that Xolo Era 2X runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs in a 3000mAh battery.
Considering these unofficial specifications of Xolo Era 2X, the phone will undoubtedly be an upgrade over last year’s Xolo Era 1X. It comes with a 5-inch HD display and 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC9832A chipset. The phone has 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD.
Xolo Era 1X houses an 8MP primary back camera and a 5MP secondary selfie camera. It is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and 2500mAh battery. The phone supports voice calling over high-speed 4G LTE connectivity and costs Rs 4,999 on Flipkart.
