Overview
The demand for budget Android phones is ever-increasing. To face the stiff competition in the market, Xolo has recently launched A500L as a successor to A500. On the feature front, the Xolo A500L comes with a 4-inch WVGA display with 480×800 pixels resolution (same as Xolo A500) having a pixel density of 233PPI (which is decent enough for a phone of this price range). The phone runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a dual-core MediaTek 6572 processor with 1.3GHz clock speed, a Mali-400 MP GPU and 512MB of RAM. (the processor has been slightly upgraded by 300MHz but the RAM has been unchanged as compared to Xolo A500). It also has 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded by up to 32GB with microSD card.

Other features include a 3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, compared to 5-megapixel rear camera of Xolo A500, which is a letdown. There’s a basic VGA front facing camera. The A500L supports dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth, AGPS, 3G network with speeds of up to 21.1 Mbps, and sensors like accelerometer, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor. Also, the phone houses a 1500mAh battery which as per the company’s claims offers up to 13 hours of talktime, and lasts for up to 681 hours on standby time.
