Overview
Beating the timing on Apple's multi-coloured iPhone 5c launch and competing with Nokia's bright-shelled Lumia 520, Micromax is playing the colourful card in the entry-level range. The Canvas Fun A74 is an entry level handset that comes in three colour options: Blue, Red and Black. It's got a 4.5-inch 854 x 480 pixel display and is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor. There's 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal memory (out of which Micromax claims 1.27GB is available for apps, and 1.25GB for mass storage). You can expand up to 32GB more using a microSD card. There's 3G support with speeds of up to 21Mbps, WiFi 802.11n and a rather old version of Bluetooth i.e. v2.0.

In the camera department, you've got a 5 megapixel fixed-focus lens with an LED flash. The phone has the capability of recording videos in 720p resolution. It comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Powering the unit is a 1500 mAh battery, which given the reasonable specs, should not prove to be too insufficient.
Micromax Canvas Viva A72 is again an entry level range dual SIM smartphone. This affordable smartphone offers display size of 480 x 800 pixels, 5.0 inches with TFT touchscreen. 3G support is missing but in 2G the phone works with GSM 900 / 1800 - SIM 1 & SIM 2. The internal memory of this smartphone is 512MB out of which 110MB is usable. You can expand further upto 32GB using a microSD card. It offers Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot and a Bluetooth of version 3.0. Its primary camera boosts up to 3.15 MP, 2048x1536 pixels and has no secondary camera. This smartphone offers a rather older Android OS v2.3 (Gingerbread). The phone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core CPU. Its seemingly high-capacity 2000 mAh battery should give a good up-time.
