Overview
The Samsung Galaxy Golden is an Android-based smartphone with a flip form factor that's almost not to be seen these days. But the word 'Golden' in the name indicates the golden finish on the sides of the phone. It fuses two similarly sized 3.7-inch Super AMOLED displays back-to-back with a traditional numeric keypad. They have a reasonable 800 x 480 pixel resolution, and thanks to a 'hidden receiver', one can make calls even with the flip closed. Being a touchscreen phone, we also assume the phone would be entirely operational without having to open the flip. Samsung has created the flip to cater to the niche audience who misses the form factor and also prefers using buttons while dialling a phone number. Other than this, it's pretty much a mid-range smartphone on the inside — a dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 400 chipset, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB internal storage.

At the back you've got an 8 megapixel shooter and a 1.9MP cam for video calls/selfies. The 1820 mAh battery inside sounds a little less given the mid-range specs; but looking at the relatively low resolution display, hopefully the phone gets by the entire day on a single charge. Samsung is targeting the premium audience for this phone; with a price tag of Rs. 51,900 at launch.
The Samsung Metro Duos is a dual SIM phone with dual standby. The sleek bar phone features a classic metallic design and showcases some powerful multimedia features. The phone has a 2.2 inch QVGA screen for all the interaction with the phone - be it instant messaging, SMS, browsing your photos or reading the e-mails. The e-mails are synced with the PC using Active Sync. The phone has a pre-installed application – mFluent IM allowing the user to connect to multiple instant messengers such as GTalk, MSN Messenger or Yahoo Messenger. The mobile also gives a direct link for the two social network giants – Facebook and Twitter. The phone also has a AccuWeather widget, giving real-time weather forecasts and temperature in different parts of the world.

The phone is equipped with a 2 Megapixels camera. The internal storage of 46MB can be expanded up to 16 gigabytes using a microSD card, allowing you to store all your pictures, videos and songs. Connectivity options in the phone include GPRS, WAP and Bluetooth. The phone is backed up by a 1000mAh battery giving a talk time of about 10 hours and standby time of up to 500 hours.
