Overview
Take out the physical QWERTY and a couple of other specs from the XPERIA Pro and you get the XPERIA Neo V. Thanks to the absence of the sliding QWERTY board, the XPERIA Neo V is fairly comfortable to use thanks to the reduced weight (from 142 grams to 126 grams). This is an Android smartphone running Gingerbread (Android 2.3) with a upgrade to Android 4.0 ICS available. On the features front, the Neo V sports a 480 x 854 3.7" touchscreen, VGA front-facing video-call camera, 5 megapixel auto-focus camera at the back, a 1 GHz single-core processor and an HDMI out port. There's 512MB of RAM and about 2GB of internal memory. You can expand capacity via a microSD card slot. The camera at the back can take videos at 720p HD resolution. 3G and WiFi is available for connecting to high-speed internet. The 1500 mAh removable battery is quoted to deliver 7 hours of talktime on the neo V.
The Sony XPERIA L is a mid-range handset from the Japanese phone maker. It has a comfortably-sized 4.3-inch "scratch-resistant" display bearing an 854 x 480 pixel resolution. There's a dual-core 1GHz Krait-based Snapdragon processor inside with a reasonable 1GB of RAM. Out of the 8GB internal memory, 5.8GB is allocated to the user, other than the microSD card slot. It can pull 3G internet at speeds of 21 Mbps, and has Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC support as well. An 8 megapixel camera at the back has features like HDR, image stabilisation, sweep panaroma etc. It also shoots 720p HD videos too. It runs the fairly recent Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The XPERIA L is powered by a 1750 mAh battery. There's an LED light strip at the bottom of the phone that glows when a notification comes in.
