HTC Butterfly X920D Features

HTC Butterfly is a high end Android smartphone that would compete with the Apple iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S series (with the Galaxy S4 due in coming months). HTC has jumped on the large screen bandwagon with a 5" full touchscreen on the Butterfly. The Butterfly would also find its competition in the rugged Sony Xperia Z with both these devices running a 1.5 GHz Krait processor with 2GB of RAM and a 1080p screen resolution resulting in 441 ppi of depth. The Butterfly features a 8MP camera on the rear and a 2.1MP on the front, both of which are capable of shooting 1080p videos. The Xperia Z does inch ahead of the Butterfly in terms of battery capacity (2330 mAh vs 2020 mAh on the Butterfly) and a 13MP camera.

HTC Butterfly weighs 140gms and carries the HTC design ethos along with Beats Audio support and complimentary 25GB of Dropbox storage. With HTC and Sony matching the hardware specs in key areas like display and CPU, Samsung has a window to bring a change with the Galaxy SIV and perhaps even the flexible display it demoed at CES. The Butterfly isn't the cheapest of the devices on the market and the iPhone 5 would be in hitting range for anyone who chooses the Butterfly, however with better screen size / resolution and Android 4.1, it is hard to make a case for the iPhone here. HTC also gets closer to the Samsung Galaxy Note series with a 5" screen on the Butterfly, a screen size that everyone loves (right from consumers to Micromax :)).
