LG V30 Features

LG has launched the much anticipated V30 smartphone in the IFA 2017 held in Berlin. Although previous leaks divulged a lot of essential information of the phone, it has finally been unveiled officially. The phone rocks LG’s signature FullVision display and comes with dual rear cameras. There is much more to the phone than this, let’s take a look at the full specifications and features of LG V30.

Design and Display:

Design of the new V30 looks pretty premium given that it has a metal-glass back and a shiny metal frame. Display-wise, the V30 is a notch taller than the previous flagship G6 at 6 inches compared to 5.7-inch display in the latter. It has a FullVision display which is LG’s version of bezel-less. The same display type can also be spotted in LG G6 and Q6.

It puts on a Quad HD OLED FullVision display with a resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels and has a pixel density of 538PPI. Similar to its predecessor V20, this one also gets secondary always-on screen situated right above the main display. The LG V30 is also a Daydream compatible smartphone.

Keeping up with the latest trends, the LG V30 features a dual rear camera setup comprising a 16-megapixel standard lens and a 13-megapixel 120-degree wide-angle lens. For the first time in smartphone camera history, LG has breakthrough a revolutionary f/1.6 aperture capable of capturing more light, hence providing a highly focused and sharper image output. Especially, in low-light conditions. The cameras are also backed with Crystal Clear Lens making them offer correct colour reproduction and more clearer photographs. Up front, the LG V30 sports a 5-megapixel snapper with an aperture of f/2.2.

Performance & Features:

The LG V30 draws its power from an octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. It runs the Android 7.1.2 Nougat and the Android Oreo update is expected soon. The phone gets 64GB of inbuilt storage with an option to expand it up to 2TB via MicroSD card. The company has also introduced another variant V30+ which comes with 128GB of internal storage.

Confirming the earlier reports, the LG V30 also houses a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC powered by Bang & Olufsen. The box also includes a pair of earphones too manufactured by B&O Play. It is also water and dust resistant, thanks to IP68 certification. It sports a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, but it’s a relief to know that LG hasn’t opted for an awkward position as Samsung did. Apart from the fingerprint scanner, the phone can also be unlocked by facial recognition.

Battery and Connectivity:

LG V30 comes with 3,300mAh battery and to ensure super fast charging, Qualcomm’s QuickCharge 3.0 support is provided. Since it has a glass back, wireless charging is supported as well. Talking about connectivity, the handset supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, and USB Type-C 2.0 support with compatibility for USB Type-C 3.1.
