OnePlus One Features

The One is termed as the “flagship killer” manufactured by the company OnePlus. Much like the recent trend set by companies like Xiaomi, the company aims to provide flagship-grade features for a less than flagship price.

The OnePlus One has a 5.5 inch IPS display manufactured by JDI which is among the best manufacturers of display. Its a 1080p FULL HD display with a pixel density of 401 PPI. The device has a 13 megapixel Sony sensor with flash and a 5 megapixel front facing wide angle camera. The rear camera is capable of recording 4K video and also does 720p slo-mo videos at 120FPS. It has a Quad Core processor clocked at 2.5GHz, Snapdragon 801 for those who are curious and has 3GB of RAM on board. It runs CyanogenMod 11S, an Android fork based on version 4.4 KitKat that adds nifty features like Themes, Privacy Guard etc. There’s even a Moto X-like always-on listening feature where the phone will respond when you say “Ok Snapdragon”. Also, another similarity to the Moto X is an optional wooden back cover along with denim, linen etc.

There is an option to choose between 16GB and 64GB of internal storage but sadly no scope of expanding it. On the connectivity front the device supports many bands for 4G LTE which means that it should deliver the high-speed mobile internet in many countries (including India). It has a large 3100mAh battery on board which should provide decent backup. Abroad, the OnePlus One is sold only via an invite system.

It's been more than three years that I have been using this outstading phone, and I still have no complaints from this. Being the first smartphone with 3GB RAM, this phone was the best flagship device when it was launched. I was so eager that I purchsed it via an invite in the second sale itself. It has an amazing camera and the phone performs well too. Oneplus has stopped giving updates now so thats effecting the performance a bit. Has a massive battery, can easily last for one day. It has enough storage of 64GB to keep all your files and photos.

The company announced itself with this flagship smartphone. The device was launched at a price tag of 21,999 in India The device was bundled with Sanpdragon 801 3GB of ram and 64GB of ram and a version of 16gb was introduced sometime later. The phone sported a 1920*1080 display (FHD) Phone came with Android 4 customised i.e. cyanogen mod . Cyanogen mod is one of the greatest plus points of this smartphone. The camera is brilliant. The phone is great in handling.
The Good
  • Decent camera
  • Decent processor
  • 3gigs of ram sounded too good in the year 2014
  • Support for almost all the games and application across the store then.
The Bad
  • Touch latency issues.
  • Auto touch issues ( solved with launch of android 5 cyanogen mod)
  • Heating issues.

Two years of using the phone and learnt a lot about the mobile phones. I always hoped that this phone would be the best phone that one can use but as evolvement goes on upgrades are always there and the mobile company loses interest in upgrading its previous handset. Initially the phone was pretty good but after a couple of upgrades this phone started heating and started lagging and restarting again and again. Now it has started a new issue of its battery backup and I have to find a replacement for it. Its a world of change so obviously you have to upgrade with time. If you want to buy now then you have a lot of other options in this price range.
The Good
  • Excellent camera
  • Superb video quality
  • Decent display size
  • Superamoled and Corning gorilla is an advantage
The Bad
  • Battery started fading
  • Automatic restarting of the phone
  • Overheating
