You have reached the end of the road, friend

Christened as Pacetel Communications at its inception in 2003, Lava has become one of the better known Indian brands in the mobile space. Known for its smartphones, tablets and IT accessories, Lava owns about 8% share in the mobile space according to the IDS Asia Pacific Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker in 2014. Not just this, Lava has also been ranked as the 5th most trusted mobile handset brand in 2014 by BTR.

The company has its headquarters in Noida along with several regional offices which are spread throughout the country. The central thought behind the brand is to Create Possibilities which underlines the brand's commitment towards innovating and creating valuable products for its consumers. Currently, Lava does its product testing, R&D and assembling work in China while some bits of R&D also happen in India. This makes Lava one of the very few mobile manufacturers to have invested in R&D here in India. Not just hardware, Lava has also done some interesting work in the app space, with Fusion App being one of the most popular apps on Google Play Store.

Lava holds the distinction of being the first brand to tie up with Intel to produce the first ever Intel Powered smartphone under the Xolo moniker, even before the likes of Asus jumped into the game. Several Xolo devices, including the Xolo Omega and Xolo 8X run a custom Android skin called Hive OS which is developed specifically by Xolo team. Other than the Omega lineup of phones, Lava also announced the Iris series of Android smartphones in addition to their existing bar feature phones. In fact, the Lava Iris X1 was one of the very first smartphones which ran Android KitKat in India which gave the customers loads of confidence in the brand when it comes to software upgrades which has become bit of an achilles heel for the competitors. Lava has also ventured into tablet space coming up with the E-Tab Z7H as well as delivering a Windows Phone device in the form of Iris Win 1.
