Talk about Panasonic Mobile Phones, ask your questions!

Panasonic was founded on March 13th, 1918. The headquarters of Panasonic are located at Kadoma in Osaka, Japan. Until October 2008, the company was officially called Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd and it was only after that it was changed to "Panasonic Corporation".

At its inception, Panasonic was founded as a vendor of lamp sockets. Since then Panasonic has sold VHS VCRs, Radio Receivers, Marine Radio Direction Finders, Audio Speakers, Televisions, Smartphones etc. Panasonic is well known for its joint venture with the famous Social Media site, Myspace, where they produced the Myspace TV allowing users to watch live Television and continue to chat with other Myspace users. Currently Panasonic has 33,000 employees on its payroll. In India, Panasonic has a strong focus on market research as well as product innovation. The headquarters are located in Gurgaon and the current workforce stands at 12,500. In fact, India has been recognised as the regional hub to drive the growth and make inroads into emerging markets like Asia as well as Middle Eastern and Western Economies. Panasonic currently follows an in house open application system recruiting in the areas like energy, water, remote access and food.

Panasonic as a brand is best known for its era line of televisions in India. With strong marketing effort which involved key partnerships with common touchpoint like football and bollywood in the form of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, Panasonic has become a household brand name in India. The company has also associated itself with the actor Varun Dhawan to make waves in the smartphone market and the same has definitely worked for the likes of Eluga S Selfie smartphone and the P51. While Android devices are the bread and butter of Panasonic, they have also produced a line of feature phones with and without touch under the GD series. Panasonic smartphones are characterised with strong box like bar designs and strong focus is laid on gestures and their usage in making using the device easier. It is interesting to note that so far Panasonic has not touched the high end price category in India keeping its focus very much on the lower end and the middle budget sections for mobiles. This could be a conscious effort keeping in mind how price sensitive the Indian market is, and the open opportunity in the mid and lower price markets in India.
