Sony Xperia C Features

The Sony Xperia C is the Japanese manufacturer's way of trying to compete with the onslaught of large, mid-range phones by Indian phone makers. It maintains the same design philosophy of the Xperia lineup and has a big 5-inch display, but with a comparatively low qHD (960 x 540 pixel) resolution. It is a dual-SIM handset with software settings that allow you to automatically set which SIM should be used what time of the day. Instead of Qualcomm, which is used in almost all of Sony's Android smartphones, the Xperia C is powered by a Mediatek MT6589 chip (the same that powers phones like the Micromax Canvas 4). It is a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU, complemented by 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory (we trust about half of that should be available to the user). Using a microSD card, you can add up to 32GB more storage. The 3G speeds can soar as high as 42.2Mbps on this phone, and you have Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11n support too.

The 8 megapixel camera at the back can shoot videos in 1080p Full HD. There's a VGA front-facing camera too. Sony claims the Exmor R tech and support for HDR and other camera-related software tweaks will set it apart from the crowd. Delivering juice to the Xperia C is a reasonably large 2370 mAh battery, which along with Sony's "Stamina Mode" battery-saving software feature, should deliver good up-time. It runs the fairly recent Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Sony Xperia C was my first smartphone which I bought for 17k. Price wise phone was too costly, I think Sony only charges for Brand Value. It came with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and no further update ever came for the phone. Xperia C has 4GB internal storage user will only get 1.29GB for usage and 1GB of RAM is not good enough for Apps updates. Front camera was VGA it's not useful for video calling and also for selfie purpose. But Phone had good 2390mAh battery backup. Which gives you one day usage of social networking, reading books, news and listening music for more than 5 to 6 hours. Design wise Sony Xperia C was attractive and I liked the sound quality while listening to music.
The Good
  • Good Battery Backup phone.
  • Best sound quality for listening music.
  • Most durable home button.
The Bad
  • Due to 4GB internal storage phone get hang most of times.
  • No android further updates from 4.2 Jelly Bean.
  • For this spec phone was too costly.
