By Avina Dabkara on March 31, 2017
Who can imagine a phone with 4gb RAM, 5.5 inch display, 64 gb internal and 13 MP back camera for just 16k? I recommend this phone to all Iphone users and stop wasting money on it.
The Good
  • I’m using jio 4g network and speed is greater than Iphone.
  • Camera quality is great with various shooting modes.
  • Battery survives for almost 20 hours with moderate to heavy usage.
  • No heating issues experienced till now.
The Bad
  • I hate the concept of flash sales, it be easily available in bulk

  • 64GB ROM
  • 4GB RAM
  • great camera quality
  • No lagging
  • Metal body
  • VOLTE device
The Bad

This is the best phone you can get in terms of value for money.
The Good
  • An excellent RAM ensures smooth functioning. Large internal storage. Good user interface.
The Bad
  • They have reduced quality of front camera as compared to Redmond Note 3 in terms of MP. Speakers at the bottom may be irritating for some.

In hand, the phone feels like a solid piece of equipment. The original Note 3, which I used to use before, felt solid, but plasticky, a tradeoff that was acceptable considering the specs and performance it offered. Now, the phone has a unibody design a la Apple, and definitely feels like a premium piece of equipment. The phone is around about the same size as the Note 3, but is heavier thanks to the aluminium casing. Next to the one of its biggest rivals, the Le Eco Le 2, it looks and feels nearly identical. Talking of hardware, the phone performs flawlessly. There is no lag, it is blazing fast, and most non-geeky consumers would find its performance at par with the phone Xiaomi tries to emulate, the iPhone. To be brutally honest, most consumers aren’t doing too much with their phones besides running a couple of apps (and lets be honest, it’s mostly Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp), so the phone is more than capable of handling that. The Snapdragon 625 graphics card can handle all the games you throw at it, running them together if need be. In terms of connectivity, the phone has all the usual options of dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, an IR blaster and LTE with VoLTE. One downer here is that there isn’t any NFC, which might be an issue for consumers who have gotten used to it. The fingerprint sensor works flawlessly, and I haven’t run into any issues with it in the few weeks I’ve used it. The one connectivity problem I did run into is that the phone remained unavailable for absolutely no reason sometimes, which is an issue I faced with the Note 3 as well. It’s one of the pet problems of the company, and one that doesn’t seem to have a solution to. Talking of pet problems, the screen is very slippery. It’s an odd comment to make about a phone, but when thats all you have to use the thing, it can get on your nerves pretty quickly. Otherwise, the screen is very bright, comes with a blue light filter and all the works. A visual treat the phone comes with is the camera. The pictures are as true to life as it can get, and the picture quality is very good in the price range it occupies. The front camera, however, suffers a little loss in quality. There is noticeable noise in the pictures, and it looks like it was taken by an entry-level phone. Next up is the battery life. It lasted a full day with the WiFi and GPS on, downloading updates, taking pictures, uploading them, playing games, streaming music and more. So what’s the conclusion? The Redmi Note 4 is an excellent, value for money entry-level phone. Does the Note 4 check all the boxes for an entry level phone? Yes. Does it have the bells and whistles on par with higher end phones? Yes again, it does. Does it have ALL the bells and whistles associated with higher end smartphones? Definitely not. And that’s why you’re paying 15k for it instead of 30k.
The Good
  • Battery life
  • Premium feel
  • Back camera
  • Blazing fast
The Bad
  • Signal loss
  • Distorted sounds at higher volumes
  • Front camera has a little noise in the pictures
  • Slippery screen
