3 New Moto Mods Launched along with a Mods Renting Service by Motorola

Motorola has been making modular smartphones since the last few years. The reason behind this is compatibility with Moto Mods, a set of additional accessories that can connect directly to Moto phones. Over the years, Motorola has launched several Mods aimed at different utilities and now, they have launched three new Mods. Apart from this, they have also introduced a service where you can rent Mods on a weekly basis. Let’s take a look at all of this in detail below.

The three newly launched Moto Mods are: JBL SoundBoost 2, Moto Gamepad and Moto TurboPower Pack. These Mods are targeted towards better audio, better gaming and better battery life respectively. All of the three are important use cases and thus, Moto has decided to target them this time.

The JBL SoundBoost 2, like the name says is a second version of the original SoundBoost launched earlier. It amplifies your phone’s speaker sound so that you can use it to play music, watch videos or movies together, etc. This Mod comes with a 10 hours battery life and similar to Motorola phones, it supports fast charging. It is also splash resistant and comes in an all new design. The JBL SoundBoost 2 is available in three different colours: Red, Blue and Black. It costs Rs. 6,999.

The Moto Gamepad will surely appeal to fans of old-school gaming consoles. It has all the elements of a hand-held console that includes action buttons, the D pad and control sticks. When connected, it doesn’t suck up the phone’s battery but instead has its own 1,035mAh battery unit for drawing power. It is priced the same as the SoundBoost Mod, at Rs. 6,999.

The Moto TurboPower Pack is similar to a power bank but it can attach to your phone as a cover. The brand promises that it will offer up to an additional day of battery life. It has fast charging support and Moto claims that it can charge to 50% in just 20 minutes. Even Apple has an official battery case for iPhone similar to this one. The TurboPower Pack costs Rs. 5,999.

Motorola has also introduced a renting service for its Mods in partnership with RentMojo. Users can now rent any of their favourite Mods on a weekly basis for a price of Rs. 399/week. For now, this service is only available for the top 8 metro cities in India. We can expect it to expand to more cities soon.

Motorola has a set of good modular phones and it is constantly bringing new Mods for its users. This seems like a step in the right direction as many users prefer such customization to their phone hardware.
