In a IFA 2019 event, Acer has launched a new range of Chromebooks. The notebooks have been launched alongside the Acer Swift 5 and Swift 3 notebooks which are powered by 10th Gen Intel Core processors.
Acer Chromebooks: specifications and features
The Acer Chromebook 314 comes with a 14-inch Full-HD IPS anti-glare display with a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. Due to the anti-glare property, the display panels provide clearer visibility outside. The Chromebooks feature two USB 3.1 Type C Gen 1 ports on each side which can be used to charge the laptops, transfer data and connect to an HD display. A microSD card reader is also included in the package.
All the models feature a front-facing HD webcam for video calls. Meanwhile, the convertible Acer Chromebook Spin 311 also has the option for a world-facing camera for capturing 1080p videos. In terms of wireless connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac are available.
The new Chromebooks rely on dual-core Intel Celeron N4000 or quad-core Intel Celeron N4100 processors. The Chromebook 315 also offers an option for the Intel Pentium Silver N5000 processor. The offering can be configured with up to 128GB of eMMC storage and up to 8GB of RAM. It also claims to deliver a battery life of up to 12.5 hours. With their fanless designs, the models produce considerably less sound and the moisture-resistant touchpads protect the device from dampness.
The new Chromebook range by Acer is also equipped with Google Assistant which can be accessed simply by saying “Hey Google”. They offer multiple user sign-ins to keep data safe, and Gmail accounts are reportedly kept safe even if the product is stolen. Chrome OS provides automatic updates to enhance security as well. The Acer Chromebooks support Google Play so that users can access apps easily.
