Acer launches several new notebooks in its Swift, Predator, Nitro and Chromebook Spin series

Acer recently held its “next@Acer” event online and refreshed its range of notebook and laptops. The company announced as many as 11 new laptops at the event, including new models in its Swift, Helios, Triton and ConceptD series.

The company offers a wide range of laptops designed for multiple purposes suiting the requirements of individuals ranging from heavy gamers to serious creators. The new launches are all equipped with the latest configurations and processors. Let’s take a look at all laptops that the Taiwanese brand launched at its event.

The Acer Swift 5 comes with a 14-inch FHD IPS touchscreen display with multi-finger gestures, 300 nits of brightness,  72 percent coverage of the NTSC gamut and a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display is protected by a layer of Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass. Powering the notebook is a next-gen Intel Core processor with either Intel Xe architecture-based integrated graphics or Nvidia GeForce MX350 GPU. The notebook has 16GB of LPDDRAX RAM and 1TB of PCIe SSD.

The Acer Swift 5 starts at $999.99 (~Rs 75,600) and will be offered in Mist Green and Safari Gold colours. The laptop will be available in US, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and China from October.

Acer Chromebook Spin 713 and Spin 311 specifications and features

The Chromebook Spin 713 is launched as part of Intel’s Project Athena program and features 10th-gen Intel processors, up to 16GB of RAM (DDR4), and a 256GB SSD. The new laptop ships with a 13.5-inch display with a non-conventional 3:2 aspect ratio, which provides more vertical screen space ideal for professionals as it reduces the need to zoom out or scroll. The screen has a resolution of 2,256 x 1,504 pixels. Acer has also launched the Chromebook Enterprise Spin 713, which comes with Google’s Chrome Enterprise security solution.

The brand also launched an affordable Chromebook Spin 311 intended for students and kids. The 11.6-inch convertible Chromebook is powered by a Mediatek MT8183 processor. Acer claims that the Chromebook Spin 311 can last up to 12 hours on a single charge.

The Chromebook Spin 713 will be made available in North America in July starting at $629 (~Rs 47,600), while the Enterprise Spin 713 goes on sale in August starting at $1,099 (~Rs 83,200). The more affordable Spin 311 starts at $259 (~Rs 19,600) and will be available in July.

Acer Predator Helios 700, Predator Helios 300, Triton 300, and Nitro 7 specifications and features

The newest additions in Predator Helios and Triton gaming laptops come with Intel’s 10th-gen H-series processors and Nvidia’s RTX 2070 or 2080 Super Max-Q GPUs. The Helios 700 features a 17.3-inch full-HD IPS screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. The laptop is being offered with a 10th-gen Intel Core i9-10980HK or i7-10875H processor with Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super or GeForce RTX 2070 Super GPU. The laptop can be configured with up to 64GB DDR4 RAM and PCIe NVMe SSD in RAID 0 configuration.

The Helios 300, on the other hand, has a 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch full HD IPS display with a 240Hz refresh rate, 10th-gen Intel Core H-series processors, an overclockable Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU, up to 32GB RAM and more. As for the Acer Predator Triton 300, the laptop shares all its specs with the Helios 300 but has a different design and is about 3mm thinner with slimmer bezels around the display.

Lastly, the Nitro 7 is the latest entrant in the Nitro series with a 144Hz 15.6-inch full-HD IPS display and a 10th-gen Intel Core H-series processor. The laptop is being offered with up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU, 32GB DDR4 RAM and three slots for SSDs for up to 1TB in RAID 0 configuration.

The Acer Predator Helios 700 will start at $2,399 (~Rs 1,80,000) and will be available in North America from October. The Helios 300 and Triton 300 are priced at $1,199.99 (~Rs 90,600) and $1,299.99 (~Rs 98,100), respectively. The former will go on sale from July, while the latter will be available from September. The Nitro 7 will go on sale from October starting at $999.99 (~Rs 75,600.)

Acer ConceptD 3 and ConceptD 3 Ezel specifications and features

The ConceptD series is a range of powerful devices specifically designed for creators. Acer is offering both ConceptD 3 and ConceptD 3 Ezel in 14- or 15.6-inch size options with PANTONE-certified touchscreen panel. Both models are powered by 10th-gen Intel Core i5 or i7 H-series processors. Acer is also giving choice between Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650, 1650Ti, or Quadro T1000 graphics cards. Both laptops have full-size SD card readers and Thunderbolt 3 ports, which are essential for creators.

The ConceptD 3 is a conventional laptop with a clamshell design but the ConceptD 3 Ezel features Acer’s innovative Ezel hinge. The Ezel hinge lets creators use the laptop in six usage modes such as stand mode, adjustable float mode, traditional laptop mode, pad mode and share mode.

The ConceptD 3 and ConceptD 3 Ezel are both being offered in Pristine White colour option. The former starts at $999.99 (~Rs 75,600) and the latter will retail for $1,499.99 (~Rs 1,13,100). The standard model will be available in US and EMEA from October and in China from September. The Ezel version will go on sale in the US and China in August and in EMEA in September.

Acer Enduro N7 and Enduro N3 specifications and features

The Enduro series is a new line of laptops intended for outdoor use, which Acer claims can survive drops, extreme temperatures, and water exposure. Designed for first responders, field and manufacturing workers, these devices flaunt MIL-810G and up to IP68 certifications. The Enduro N3 ships with a Gorilla Glass-covered 14-inch display, 10th-gen Intel Core i7 processor, 32GB RAM, up to 512GB PCle Gen3 NVMe SSD and GeForce MX230 GPU. This model has the MIL-STD 810G and IP53 certification. Other features include 13-hours battery life, fingerprint scanner and an anti-tampering chip.

The Enduro N7, on the other hand, is IP68 rated with a 700 nits 14-inch display. Acer claims that this laptop can withstand drops onto the hardest flooring. The features include 8th-gen Intel Core i5 chipset, dual swappable batteries and more.

The Enduro N3 will be available in North America and will arrive in August starting at $899 (~Rs 68,000). It will also be on sale in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia in June for $999 (~Rs 75,600). The company has not announced the availability and pricing of Enduro N7 yet.
