Acer has updated two laptops – the Nitro 5 and Swift 3 with second-generation AMD Ryzen Mobile processors. The former is a gaming machine while the later is a light-and-thin productivity notebook. Let’s take a look at the technical specifications below:
Nitro 5 & Swift 3:
The Nitro 5 is equipped with a second-gen AMD Ryzen 7 3750 processor coupled with a dedicated Radeon RX 560X GPU. Acer said in a statement that “users can expect stunning visuals and responsive performance from the new AMD technology”.
The Swift 3, on the other hand, makes use of a Ryzen 7 3700U chipset clocked at 2.3GHz. It comes with an integrated Vega graphics and users have the option to choose a discrete Radeon RX 540X graphics.
Apart from the CPU and GPU changes, the updated models are not very different. The Nitro 5 comes with the same 15.6-inch 1080p display. It features dual fans and CoolBoost technology to keep the machine chilled during intense gaming sessions. Connectivity ports on the laptop include HDMI 2.0, Type-C Gen 1 and more.
As for Swift 3, the laptop sports a 14-inch display surrounded by slim bezels. It flaunts a sleek aluminum design with a 180-degree hinge to lay flat. The Swift 3 is 0.71-inches thick and measures 3.2-pounds on a weighing scale.

Acer hasn’t announced the pricing and availability of the Nitro 5 and Swift 3 yet. The company said that it will show off the latest models at the upcoming Computex 2019 trade show in Taiwan from May 28th to June 2nd.
