Alongside a range of mainstream and gaming laptops, Acer also announced a new TravelMate P6 laptop at its global press event called the TravelMate P614-51. The laptop is aimed at enterprise users and comes with a host of useful features. Let’s take a look below:
Design & Display
The Acer TravelMate P614-51 is an ultra-thin laptop ideal for professionals on the go measuring just 16.6mm in thickness and weighing 1.1kg. It is equipped with military-grade MIL-STD 810G certification to withstand harsh conditions. The laptop sports a magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis claimed to be stronger and lighter than standard aluminum alloy.
The TravelMate P614-51 features a 14-inch FHD IPS display with a 170-degree wide viewing angle. It also features a 180-degree hinge design which enables the user to lay it flat for sharing the display with others. The laptop comes with a backlit keyboard that facilitates typing in low-light conditions. The touchpad is shielded with Corning Gorilla Glass NBT against damage and scratches.
Hardware & Software:
In terms of hardware, the TravelMate P614-51 is powered by up to an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processors. It is equipped with up to Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics and packs up to 24GB DDR4 memory. The device offers up to 1TB Gen 3 x4 PCIe SSD storage based on NVMe technology.
On the software front, the TravelMate P614-51 runs Windows 10. There are various security features like Windows Hello authentication via a fingerprint reader embedded in the power button and an IR webcam that works with Biometric facial recognition. Additionally, the TravelMate P614-61 comes with an integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 chip that is claimed to provide hardware-based protection for passwords and encryption keys. Also onboard is Acer ProShield software, that offers a suite of security and management tools to help safeguard sensitive data and an Intel vPro to add another layer of protection.
Battery & Connectivity:
The Acer TravelMate P614-51 is claimed to deliver up to 20 hours of battery life on a single charge. The notebook can also be charged up to 50 percent in less than 45 minutes.
Connectivity-wise, the TravelMate P614-51 is a Skype for Business-certified machine and comes with a four-mic array that is capable of picking up vocals from up to 6.5 feet away. The notebook comes with eSIM-enabled 4G LTE connectivity as well as 802.11ac 2×2 MU-MIMO technology. There is Thunderbolt 3 support for fast data transfers. The laptop also comes with an optional Acer USB Type-C dock that provides USB 3.1 Type-A and Type-C, DisplayPort, HDMI, Audio in/out, and support for up to three 4K displays.
Pricing & Availability:
The Acer TravelMate P614-51 will go on sale in North America and EMEA markets in June 2019 at $1,149.99 (roughly Rs 79,530) and EUR 1,249 (roughly Rs 97,690) respectively. The laptop will be available in China from next month starting at RMB 9,999 (roughly Rs 1,03,094).
