Acer VivoBook 14 and 15 with 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor launched

Acer has launched quite a few devices at its press event at IFA 2019 yesterday. The brand has introduced VivoBook 14 and 15 laptops along with four new Chromebooks, Swift 5 and Swift 3 notebooks.

Acer VivoBook 14 and 15: specifications and features

The VivoBook 14 comes with a 14-inch display with an FHD resolution. The VivoBook 15 sports a 15.6-inch panel with the same resolution. Both the products sport frameless four-sided NanoEdge displays with 87 percent and 88 percent screen-to-body ratio, respectively.

The smaller laptop runs on up to 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8550U processors while the VivoBook 15 relies on up to Intel Core i7-8565U CPUs. The former also has a variant which depends on Ryzen R5-3500U processor for performance. Both the laptops can be configured with optional discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX 230 graphics, but rely on integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 by default. They also feature dual-storage designs which can carry up to 512GB SSD and 1TB HDD storage. The VivoBook 14 sports up to 12GB DDR4 of RAM while the VivoBook features up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM.

Additionally, dual-band Wi-Fi 5/802.11ac and Bluetooth v4.2 are available for wireless connectivity. They feature an HD Webcam for video calling and run Windows 10 Home OS. The smaller offering hosts one USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port, one USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port, one USB 2.0 port, a 3.5mm audio combo jack, one HDMI port and one microSD card reader. The VivoBook 15 plays host to two USB 2.0 ports instead of one while the rest of the configuration remains identical.

In terms of audio, both the laptops come with two stereo speakers with ASUS SonicMaster technology and surround effects. They carry a fingerprint reader for security and Windows gesture support integrated into the touchpad. They boast of a blower-style design where the fan takes in the air and circulates it around the motherboard to reduce the temperature.

Acer VivoBook 14 and 15: price and availability

The Acer VivoBook 14 and 15 weigh 1.5kg and 1.6kg, respectively. They have been launched in four shades – Slate Grey, Transparent Silver, Peacock Blue with a gradient hue and Coral Crush with a bright matte finish.

The offerings would start selling from Rs 33,990 and Rs 34,990, respectively. These products have been launched in association with Flipkart and will be available for buying on the e-commerce website.
