Affordable Honor 7C With Bezel-less Display Launch Date Set

Currently, the Honor 9 Lite is one of the most affordable and feature packed smartphones currently available in the budget smartphone segment. This is about to face some competition from its upcoming sibling, the Honor 7C. The brand has set its launch date on March 12, 2018, in China. The Honor 7C will be the successor to the Honor 6C which was launched last year, however, didn’t make it to the Indian market.

The phone will feature a modern design with a 5.99-inch HD+ bezel-less display having a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. The frame of the phone will be made of metal to enhance its durability. Since the phone is largely screen on the front, it will no longer have capacitive keys but instead, deploy software keys on the screen.

In the camera department, there will be a dual-rear camera setup on the back which will comprise of a 13MP + 2MP sensor combination. This in addition to some software tricks will allow the phone to capture portrait images and beautify faces. On the front, it will be equipped with an 8MP selfie snapper. This should be good enough to capture selfies with good detail.

Underneath its hood, the phone will be powered by the brand’s in-house processor, the Kirin 659 SoC which is an octa-core processor built on a 16nm process. This is coupled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM which should ensure smooth multitasking. On the software side of things, the phone will ship with EMUI 8.0 which is the custom skin Honor layers on its phone on top of Android Oreo.

In terms of connectivity, the Honor 7C will provide with all the conventional solutions including support for up to 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth, Dual-band WiFi and microUSB. Speaking about charging, the upcoming phone will come with fast charge support to enable you to quickly top up its 2,900mAh battery.

Honor has been scaling up its offerings in the mid-budget and budget smartphone segments for the Indian market. With that being said, we can expect the Honor 7C to eventually make it to India in the coming weeks.
