The Redmi K50 Ultra was recently launched in China with a 1.5K display. While the smartphone is not the first to feature a display with this uncommon resolution, it is definitely the most widely known and publicized yet. Now, a tipster has claimed that the OPPO group – comprising OPPO, Realme, and OnePlus will release smartphones with 1.5K flexible displays very soon.
The leak by Digital Chat Station claims that the panel used by the OPPO group will offer up to 2160Hz PWM dimming for eye protection as compared to the 1920Hz PWM dimming found on the Redmi K50 Ultra. The display on the Redmi K50 Ultra is supplied by Chinese screen manufacturers TCL CSOT and Tianma.

The Redmi K50 Ultra is powered by Snapdragon’s high-end 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The latest flagship smartphone from Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi features a 1.5K (1,220 x 2,712p) OLED display – which is one of the biggest USPs of the smartphone. It is Redmi’s first 12-bit screen and features 68.7 billion colours and a pixel density of 446ppi.
Other specifications of the Redmi K50 Ultra include a 5,000mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging, 5G and WiFi 6E support, stereo speakers, up to 12GB RAM, and up to 512 GB internal storage. The smartphone has a 20MP selfie camera and three rear cameras – a 108MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens.
