Agent Review and IMDb Rating
Agent received mixed reviews from the critics and audience. Some critics praised the engaging screenplay and well-executed action sequences, noting the film’s entertainment value. However, others criticized its shortcomings, including a lacklustre storyline, logical loopholes, and over-the-top scenes. Critics s found the film to be boring or disconnected from the genre it aimed to represent. Users on IMDb gave Agent a rating of 4.3/10.
While this was intended to be a breakthrough film for Akhil Akkineni, positioning him as a prominent action hero, it faced numerous challenges and fell short of expectations at the box office. The production, helmed by Surender Reddy, encountered delays and was marred by overspending and a lack of a solid script, for which producer Anil Sunkara took full responsibility and pledged to learn from the mistakes.
