Airtel has launched its own credit card in India in tie up with Axis Bank. Called Airtel Axis Bank credit card, the card has been announced by Bharti Airtel and Axis Bank exclusively for eligible Airtel customers. The telecom major said that the collaboration is aimed to strengthen the growth of the digital ecosystem of the country through a range of financial solutions.
The co-branded credit card will bring a wide range of benefits to Airtel’s 340 million customers. Having an Airtel Axis Bank credit card will allow customers to reap benefits such as cashbacks, discounts, digital vouchers, complimentary services, pre-approved instant loans, Buy Now Pay Later offerings, and more.
Airtel Axis Bank credit card: benefits
The Airtel Axis Bank credit card will be available only to eligible Airtel customers through the Airtel Thanks app. On activation of the Airtel Axis Bank credit card, users will receive a Rs 500 Amazon e-voucher within 30 days of issuance. The symbol similar to WiFi on the credit card indicates that it can be used to make contactless payments by simply tapping the card at the payment terminal.
Some of the other benefits that will be available for Airtel Axis Bank credit card users include:
- 25 percent cashback on Airtel services like mobile/DTH recharges, Airtel Black, and Xtream Fiber payments
- 10 percent cashback on electricity / gas / bill payments through Airtel Thanks app
- 10 percent cashback on partnered merchants like Swiggy, Zomato, and BigBasket
- 1 percent cashback on all expenditures
The strategic partnership between Airtel and Axis Bank will allow the latter to use the former’s C-PaaS platform called Airtel IQ that includes services like voice, messaging, video, streaming, call masking, virtual contact centre solutions, and cybersecurity services. The two companies will explore collaborating across cloud and data centre services.
