Airtel has removed the Rs 99 base plan from 19 out of 22 circles. It is still available in Kolkata, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The company has introduced its new Rs 155 recharge plan in Maharastra and Kerala. As a result, the Rs 155 prepaid plan becomes new minimum recharge plan of Airtel.

Airtel’s Rs 155 recharge plan offers unlimited calling, 300 SMS, and 1GB of data for 24 days. Along with that it also offers free Wynk Music and Hellotunes benefits.

Telecom prices in India might surge
According to Morgan Stanley, Airtel would roll out the Rs 155 package to all circles in the coming months. The group also estimates that Airtel’s revenue will rise by 1.3-1.5 per cent. Interestingly, another brokerage firm, Goldman Sachs, expects that India’s telecom networks may raise pricing in the middle of this year.
Moreover, Airtel and Jio are investing heavily in 5G network deployment, and are reportedly considering raising their recharge pack plans.
