One of the most common methods to find out any information about your number is using a USSD code. A USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) code is a code that is programmed into your SIM card and allows users to perform a set of functions such as finding call or data balance. The same USSD code can also be used to find out your number in the case of GSM service providers like Airtel.

In order to run a USSD code, you must have your Airtel SIM card in your phone and ensure that the number is activated. In other words, make sure you have cell reception for the said number. Now, open the mobile phone dialler app on your device, enter the following USSD code, and click the call button

If you are a smartphone user then arguably the most easiest step to find your mobile number is to download the relevant app from your service provider. In the case of Airtel, download the Airtel Thanks app from Google Play Store or App Store. You will now receive an OTP on your mobile number to authenticate the number.

Now, on this app, you can see your mobile number on the homepage. You will also get other information such as whether you have a prepaid or a postpaid number. You will also be able to see the data balance on your number and active plan on your number. In case of a postpaid subscriber, you will see details such as due date and total bill as well.

You can also use customer support to find your mobile number. While this is not the most recommended route, it is one that is useful. You can dial 121 or 198 from your mobile phone. This will direct you to the Airtel customer support system and the first step is to choose the language.

Once the language is selected, click on 1 to choose mobile services. You will now have to listen to the IVR that will play your mobile number, balance, data balance and even validity of your balance in case you are a prepaid subscriber.
