Airtel Thanks Platinum members no longer get free ZEE5 Premium subscription

Airtel has removed the complimentary ZEE5 Premium subscription with its postpaid plans. The telco had previously removed the free ZEE5 premium subscription from all previously eligible prepaid plans last month, except for the Rs 289 plan. Now, Airtel has announced that subscription will not be offered with the Airtel Thanks Platinum membership either.

However, the ZEE5 Premium subscription is now available on Airtel Thanks Digital Store at a discounted price. The Rs 99 monthly plan of ZEE5 Premium is being offered for Rs 79 by the telco. The yearly plan costs Rs 948 instead of the Rs 999 regular price, which is not a huge difference but is still cheaper than standard rates.

Airtel Thanks postpaid users gain a Platinum status when subscribed to a monthly plan of Rs 499 and above. The same is also granted to those who are on an Airtel broadband connection with a plan of Rs 1,099 or above. As part of the Platinum membership, Airtel offered Amazon Prime for a year, Airtel Xstream, and ZEE5 Premium subscriptions. While the other benefits remain the same, only the Zee5 subscription has been removed

Airtel Rs 289 plan continues offering ZEE5 Premium Subscription

Last month, Airtel removed the ZEE5 Premium subscription from all prepaid plans except for the Rs 289 plan. The plan comes with a validity of 28 days and offers access to the complete ZEE5 catalogue, including premium content for the same duration.

Apart from that, users on the Rs 289 plan will get  Airtel Xstream Premium access, a Wynk Music subscription, 1-year access to free online courses with Shaw Academy and free Hellotunes. It also offers Rs 150 cashback on FASTag. Other benefits include 1.5GB data per day,  unlimited local, STD and roaming calls to any network in the country and 100 SMSes per day.
