  1. Download the Airtel Thanks app from Google Play Store or the App Store
  2. Register and sign in using your Airtel mobile number and OTP
  3. On the home page, you’ll see your recharge plans, available balance, and all other details on top
  4. Just below details, you’ll see a horizontal scroll menu
  5. Scroll till you find the ‘Prepaid to Postpaid’ option
  6. Select the Airtel postpaid plan you wish to opt for, from Rs 399, Rs 499, Rs 749, Rs 999, and Rs 1,599
  7. Enter your Airtel mobile number and verify using OTP
  8. Next, enter your valid email ID where the bill will be sent
  9. Enter your address details and click on ‘Confirm order’ and select the time slot for the verification visit
  10. An Airtel representative will come to the address provided at the chosen time slot for verification

Change Airtel prepaid to postpaid online

  1. Visit the official website of Airtel for the switch
  2. Select the postpaid plan you wish to use
  3. Enter your Airtel mobile number and verify using OTP
  4. Enter a valid email ID
  5. Provide your address for the doorstep KYC
  6. Click on ‘Submit’

Once the process is completed, the Airtel executive will visit the address to verify documents, click a picture of your ID for records, and also snap a picture of you. Once the process is done, the transition from prepaid to postpaid connection usually takes about 48 hours.

Airtel adjusts the talktime balance left on prepaid in the first postpaid bill generated for the user. Other value-added services like Hellotunes are also carried forward to the new postpaid connection. However, the leftover data is not carried forward to the new postpaid connection.

  3. Confirm if you have any bills due and pay them at the store itself
  4. Once the dues are cleared and the form submitted, a request for the shift will be raised by the store representative
  5. You’ll receive an OTP on your registered Airtel mobile number, share the same with the store representative
  6. Once the OTP verification goes through, you’ll get a confirmation SMS for the switch
  7. The switch takes around two hours to finish
