Airtel recently announced a complete revision of its prepaid recharge plans tariffs in India. The new tariffs from the telecom operator will come into effect starting November 26th. The latest revision from the telco starts from an increase of as low as Rs 20 to a hike of up to Rs 501 for some packs. The base recharge plan of Airtel now starts at Rs 99 instead of Rs 79 and the most premium plan has been revised from Rs 2,498 to Rs 2,999.

Airtel announced that the new revision has been introduced in the country to ensure a reasonable return on the capital. This will allow the telecom operator to have a financially healthy business model and accelerate 5G roll out. The company stated that in order to achieve the optimal business model, the average revenue per user (ARPU) needs to be Rs 200 and ultimately reach Rs 300.
