Airtel recently announced three new prepaid packs priced at Rs 99, Rs 129 and Rs 199 with different benefits and validity periods. Earlier, the telco announced that it would stop extending validity on packs for free, since recharge outlets have now been allowed to open as per the governments new directives following the coronavirus lockdown.
Now, Airtel has announced revised benefits for several of its prepaid plans. The telco has doubled the data benefit of its Rs 98 plan and increased calling minutes for three of its talktime vouchers.
Airtel Rs 98 data pack with 12GB data
The Airtel Rs 98 Plan previously offered 6GB of high-speed data with a validity of 28 days. The company has now doubled the data benefit, and is offering 12GB data with the prepaid plan while retaining the same validity. Airtel doesn’t provide any calling or SMS benefits with this plan.
Notably, Airtel has taken this measure to compete with the Reliance Jio’s Rs 101 plan, which offers 12GB data as well as 1,000 minutes of calling to other networks with a validity of 28 days. Moreover, there is no validity on Jio’s plan as it is dependent on the existing base plan validity.
Airtel Rs 500, Rs 1,000, and Rs 5,000 vouchers with more talktime
Airtel has also bumped up the calling benefits of its Rs 500, Rs 1,000, and Rs 5,000 talktime vouchers. With the newly revised benefits, Airtel is now offering more talk time than any other telecom operator in the country on talk time vouchers worth Rs 500 and above.
The Rs 500 voucher now offers Rs 480 talk time compared to Rs 423.73 earlier. The Rs 1,000 and Rs 5,00 vouchers now offer Rs 960 and Rs 4,800 talk time, respectively. These plans were earlier launched with Rs 847.46 and Rs 4237.29 talk time, respectively.
