On: January 7, 2020

Alcatel, a brand owned by TCL Communications is a regular at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), and launches smartphones at the event nearly every year. At the ongoing CES 2020, the brand has launched a new range of affordable smartphones, including the 3L, 1S, 1V and Android (Go Edition) 1B. Here’s what these new smartphones offer in terms of specifications.

Alcatel 3L specifications and features

The Alcatel 3L is the top of the line offering this year and with this, the brand jumps on the wagon of 48MP camera smartphones. The highlight of the handset is a 48MP primary rear camera backed by a 5MP camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies and video calling, the Alcatel 3L offers an 8MP camera nestled in the waterdrop notch on the front.

Speaking of the waterdrop notch, the Alcatel 3L comes with a 6.22-inch LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and 1,520 x 720 pixels screen resolution. Powering the performance of the phone is a MediaTek MT6762 processor backed by 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. Under the hood is a 4,000mAh battery, which Alcatel claims can last all day.

Alcatel 1S and 1V specifications and features

The Alcatel 1S and 1V are the ultra-affordable duo of smartphones with a commendable spec sheet. The Alcatel 1S features the same 6.22-inch display as the 3L, and a triple camera module on the back. However, the setup now comprises of a 13MP primary camera accompanied by a 5MP and 2MP sensors. The former is a depth sensor for portrait shots and the latter is a dedicated macro lens to capture closeup shots. The smartphone also flaunts an octa-core processor and a dedicated Google Assistant button. The Alcatel 1V is identical to the 1S except that it misses out on the 2MP macro sensor.

Alcatel 1B specifications and features

Lastly, the Alcatel 1B is the cheapest of the lot and comes with Android 10 (Go Edition), which is optimised to run on entry-level specifications. The smartphone comes with a Snapdragon 215 SoC ticking at its core, which is accompanied by 2-gigs of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. The 5.5-inch smartphone features a 3,000mAh battery and a single 8-megapixel rear camera.

Alcatel 3L, 1S, 1V and 1B price and availability

The Alcatel 3L will be made available in Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa starting Q1 2020 and will set you back by $155 (~Rs 11,150). The Alcatel 1S will be available for $110 (~Rs 7,900) and 1V will set you back by $88 (~Rs 6,300). These phones will go on sale in the same countries as 3L (except the 1V that will not be available in Europe).
