Alcatel 7 Officially Unveiled with Dual Camera, 4,000mAh Battery and $180 Pricing

In the last month, TCL owned Alcatel had announced the Alcatel 5V smartphone and today the company has officially unveiled the Alcatel 7 smartphone. It is now available in the U.S. exclusively through MetroPCS. The major attractions of the Alcatel 7 include large screen display, dual camera setup and 4,000mAh battery.

Alcatel 7 Specifications and Features

The Alcatel 7 comes with an LCD display of 6 inches that carries support for Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Unlike the Alcatel 5V phone, the Alcatel 7 features a notch-less screen which offers an aspect ratio of 18:9. The backside of the phone features by 2.5D curved glass.

The MediaTek MT6763T chipset that includes an octa-core processor that clocks at 2.5 GHz is present under the hood of the Alcatel 7. The SoC is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and it includes an internal storage of 32 GB. There is a microSD card slot available for additional storage.

The handset is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery. It carries support for fast charging, but the charging speed has not been clearly revealed by the company. According to Alcatel, the phone can last for up to 6 hours with 22 minutes of charging. The handset is preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo with slight customizations. The phone is shipped with CloserTV, an Alcatel app that gives access to streaming media.

For security, the rear panel of the phone features a fingerprint reader. Also, it is equipped with face unlock function through the front-facing camera. On the backside of the phone is a 12-megapixel main camera that is coupled with 2-megapixel secondary sensor which adds depth to the snapped images. At the front is the selfie camera of 8-megapixel. There is a dedicated LED flash for the frontal shooter.

In the U.S., the Alcatel 7 has arrived with a price tag of $180. Through MetroPCS, it can be availed for free with port-in credit and unlimited LTE. With a new line or a qualified upgrade, the Alcatel 7 can be bought for $129. Black is the only color variant of the smartphone. There is no confirmation on the other markets that will be receiving the Alcatel 7 smartphone.
